CLEE Scholarship Process
(DEADLINE OCTOBER 1, 2008)
Purpose: The Law Enforcement Foundation and the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police want to encourage as many applicants as possible to participate in the Certified Law Enforcement Executive program. The LEF and the OACP recognize that some applicants will not be able to participate in CLEE without some financial assistance from outside the employing agency. The Law Enforcement Foundation may provide a scholarship for each CLEE session based on financial need and available funds.
Procedure: To be eligible for a scholarship the applicant must complete and submit a scholarship application along with a CLEE application. Scholarship and CLEE application forms are available at www.lef-oh.org or by calling 614-761-9479.
Applications may be submitted at any time in advance of the beginning of a CLEE session. The deadline for submitting an application shall be October 1 of each year. The applications will be presented to the CLEE Scholarship Committee.
The CLEE Scholarship Committee shall be composed of three members of the CLEE Advisory Board designated by the Chairman of the CLEE Advisory Board.
The CLEE Scholarship Committee shall meet as needed and review each application. The CLEE Scholarship Committee shall review and consider the applicant’s CLEE Application, the nominating CEO’s recommendation, and the budgetary information submitted by the applicant’s agency.
If multiple applications are received, the CLEE Scholarship committee shall consider each one individually and then prioritize them for recommendation to the full Advisory Board for their approval.
The CLEE Advisory Board shall receive the recommendation from the CLEE Scholarship Committee and vote to approve as many of the recommended applications as can be funded by the Law Enforcement Foundation.
The Chairman of the CLEE Advisory Board shall notify all applicants in writing to inform them if their application was or was not approved for funding.
