WELCOME TO PELC

Hello, my name is Justin Páez and I am the chair of the committee that oversees the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC). I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit the PELC page. By navigating here, you have taken a great first step in law enforcement leadership development. While the PELC program is designed to dovetail with both the STEP and CLEE programs, it provides fantastic leadership development as a stand-alone program. I encourage you to speak to some of the over 2,000 graduates of the program who will be able to provide insight into the value PELC provides for them. For me, it was the catalyst that provided readiness for what I was to face in the future.

PELC is the acronym for the Police Executive Leadership College. PELC is administered by the Ohio Law Enforcement Foundation. PELC was founded in 1986, and, each year graduates at least two classes (Spring and Fall). To date, 2,773 law enforcement executives are proud graduates of PELC.

PELC is a three-week executive leadership training program spread out over three months each session. PELC is based on the premise that leadership skills can be learned, and that given the opportunity for feedback and practice, executives can substantially improve their abilities to lead. PELC provides law enforcement executives with one of those rare moments in their professional careers to learn how to practically apply leadership concepts. It is an intensive learning experience focused on leadership skills vital to long term personal success and change in the organization – both for the benefit of the community.

The tuition for PELC is $2,725* per session. The cost includes: instruction, material, breaks and lunches. Not included are: overnight lodging, breakfast, dinner and any other ancillary costs.  Note: group discount rate is available for the sleeping rooms.
