Teen Summit

TEEN SUMMIT

The Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and the Law Enforcement Foundation (LEF) have teamed together to host a Teen Summit program for students from local area high schools. Teens, law enforcement, and community leaders will gather to listen, learn, and collaborate.

The first Teen Summit was held in the fall of 2023 at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy in Columbus, Ohio. The purpose of the event was to empower the youth and to help them build positive connections with law enforcement. We had such a wonderful response from our first effort, that it has inspired us to make the Teen Summit an annual event. We are currently planning our 2nd Teen Summit for the fall of 2024.

The Teen Summit provides an exciting day filled with helicopters, drone demonstrations, K9 car search demonstrations, and in-depth breakout sessions from experienced law enforcement. It will engage high school students in the fascinating world of their local police. We believe this will increase the student’s interest in public service and law enforcement.

We have special partners supporting our event: the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Columbus Division of Police, D.A.R.E. Ohio, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Department of Education, Ohio Department of Public Safety (DPS), DPS DREAM Program, Ohio School Resource Officers Association, Ohio School Safety Center and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
